Version 4

    Club Quarters Boston

    Overview

Club Quarters requires a membership and thus the client must have a membership as JBoss Inc. does not.  The rooms are equipped with small iceboxes, microwaves, coffee makers, tea-bag style off-brand American-style coffee.  The TVs are the smallest I've seen in hotels recently (about 19in?).  It all sounds nice but actually the room is rather spartan by American standards.

They turn the air off in the room during the day unless you ask them not to. The bed mattresses make the Red Roof feel like the Marriot.  We're talking Fred Flintstone.  The room decore is a combination of tasteful beige and government orange.  There are even rainbow colored chairs.  They purfume the room a little heavily.  The curtains are stained and I have a feeling that the bed sheets were pressed but not washed.  If comfort is less of a concern than safety, the've also covered over the fire sprinklers.  If you're used to European youth hostles then this is an unusually nice one so no problem.

They do have "On Demand" movies and basic cable.  The wireless Internet seems to work pretty well.

    Location

Club Quarters Boston is at 161 Devonshire.  From Logan Airport, go to the main terminal, baggage claim, walk out to the blue painted pillars which say "Busses" and catch 22 marked Subway.  MAKE SURE YOU HAVE $1.50 in exact change as the person responsible for dispensing tokens will inevitably run out of change for tokens and lacks the problem solving skills necessary for acquiring more change and doesn't see it as a priority despite the 50 angry people in the same situation.  Buy one token (or two if you want to buy one for the way back) and take the train towards "Government Center" but get off at "State Street".  Walk around the little island you come out of till you find Devonshire and walk down Devonshire until you find 161 (about 2-3 blocks) on the right.

DO NOT DRIVE IN BOSTON UNLESS YOU REALLY KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING THESE PEOPLE DRIVE CARS FUELED ON ROAD RAGE.
