1. Re: invoking Ejbean for getting DB Connection Object
adrian.brock Apr 14, 2003 7:00 AM (in response to sameer_inn)That is correct db connections are not
serializable and so cannot be used outside the VM
This is why entity beans were invented.

sameer_inn Apr 14, 2003 9:42 PM (in response to sameer_inn)Thank for ur reply
actually i am having a client application which run
independent of Application Server
my client application connect to application server
and perform various operation including it will
lookup for the datasource and perform many
database operations
as it's working fine in weblogic for datasource lookup from client and it does not work in jboss
so i thougt of writiing a bean for connection
and getting the connection object to the clinet
now that's also doesn't support
can u tell me what's the best way to deal with the current situation

4. Re: invoking Ejbean for getting DB Connection Object
juhalindfors Apr 15, 2003 2:55 AM (in response to sameer_inn)Write a server side component (a stateless session bean for instance) that does your lookups and connection handling and acts as a facade to your client.

sorry for troubling u again
actaully
i want my client to perform all database operation
independently without any serverside component
my client need to talk directly to the database.
my ejbean should just return a datasource to the client then the client get's connections and do
db operations directly...
do u have any solution for this.
