RMI protocol

Hi all,

We work on IIOP/RMI proxy project that should solve problems with NATs and Firewalls in CORBA and J2EE(EJB) applications. We have already done this for IIOP and now we start with RMI but we cannot find any topics (in java.sun.com) about RMI protocol spec.

Any idea where to find this ?

There is an old document which is linked from RMI section
of downloadable sdk documentation.
Last time I looked at it, it was missing the changes for java 1.4

Thanks for quick replay, but I cannot find any reasonable description about scructure of RemoteObject referenc nor Input and Output streams used for Marshalling and Demarshalling calling params.

I'am looking for somthing similar to IIOP specification. (About tags, protocol version, headers, hosts, ports etc.). It is realy simple to decode and encode IIOP protocol (and than change it) with this spec. from OMG.
