Deploy WAR as root context

Is there any other way to $SUBJECT, than naming the WAR file as .war? This trick works, but seems a bit lame for me.. - or is that only me? ;)

You can wrap your WAR in an EAR and set the context
in application.xml

deploy a jar name ".war"

this works sure on jboss244+tomcat401...

looks like a joke but works 8)

it works with
http://localhost:8080

but it does not work with
http://localhost/tomcat
after set up apache connector and I deploy tomcat's ROOT and example in tomcatexample.ear

anyone know why?

I believe that 3.* and 2.4.5 also now allow you to specify the context in jboss-web.xml.

Later versions of Jetty will recognise Root (or root - not sure which).war as being intended for the '/' context. - I don't like this. I don't think it is spec compliant and there are other ways.
