1. Re: Sun WebServer 7.0/jBoss 4.2.2 http connectors unresponsi
erasmomarciano Aug 1, 2008 4:41 AM (in response to gotthejack)It seems there's a timeout exception connecting to 10.10.15.21 on port 8080 when excecuitng HTTP POST on URI /matter/billing/LegalBillSubmit.serv.
HTTP POST method is often used on form submit.
May be it's a socket timeout on Sun Webserver or on the remote site 10.10.15.21.
Any error on the remote site logs? -

gotthejack Aug 1, 2008 9:10 AM (in response to gotthejack)The jBoss logs on 10.10.15.21 show no activity for this request. That is why we would like to know how to turn on logging for http connector.

gotthejack Aug 1, 2008 1:29 PM (in response to gotthejack)Thanks, but I don't know how that topic has any relation to what we would like to do? We just want to log the activity of the http connector, not prevent access to a server or app.

gotthejack Aug 4, 2008 9:52 AM (in response to gotthejack)Further update:
We snooped both the web server and the middle tiers and found that the web server is sending a SYN packet which is received on the middle tier but never ACKnowledged. So far we have only seen this on posts, but we are still examining the logs. I thought the operating system is responsible for the SYN,ACK back to the web server. Or does the operating system check to see if there is any listener and the sends the SYN,ACK? Trying to figure out if we are looking at an error at the operating level or with tomcat/jasper?
