RealmMapping and AuthenticationManager

I'm trying to create a custom RealmMapping and AuthenticationManager to replace tha JaasSecurityManager in JBoss. JBoss cutomer documentation states that this is possible but I can't make it work.
Does anyone know how to do this properly?
