    Persistent vs. in-memory

    pawelz

      Hello Experts,
does JBoss support both persistent AND in-memory queues and topics?
Against which database server is JBoss persistent JMS implementation certified?
      Thanks, regards,
      Pawel

Do your own research rather than expecting others to do your work.
The WIKI is a good place to start.

            Are you kidding???
It is rather obvious that a company that sells a product certifies it against certain platforms, DBs and so on.
I'd say, "do your own research" browsing proper vendors' sites and find out how many serious companies don't tell what other products their stuff works good with.

              No i am not kidding.
The product we sell is Production Support not JBoss.

If you are in these forums, you just get the "NO WARRANTY" LGPL license.

If you did some research. You will probably find hundreds of
references to docs/examples/jms in these forums alone.
It will show you which dbs JBossMQ persistence has been tested against.

NOW I REPEAT (again - sigh!). These forums are for technical questions by people who
              do some work for themselves.

We do not answer high school students homework questions here.
Nor, do we answer questions from people who have been asked by their
boss to research something. You are paid by your boss to do the research, not us.

                Thanks, that was really useful.
How much support do you expect to sell without having installed base first??
How do you expect to get new corporate custs wihtout letting them make sure your stuff will work well against database software they potentially spent tens of thousands dollars on??
The fact that you prefer to spend ten times as much time showing off with useless pissed-off-guru-kind-of answers rather than answer simple YES/NO question doesn't really count in favour of your competencies.
IMHO, rude and frustrated tech geek scr***ing up your colleagues job.
Now THAT is what YOU are getting paid for, I guess.

I've heard your argument many times before.

I'd rather educate you on how to post properly, especially on how not to
pollute the search space of these forums with already answered questions.

Yes, jBoss supports persistence and in-memory queues/topics. It is required by the spec.

The RDBMS mapping is fully configurable, so I guess you could say we could run with any DB.

Don't take Adrian's comments too personally. He is the KING of answering questions on the forums and sometimes loses his patience. If you have ever done support before, I'm sure RTFM questions would drive you crazy as well so cut him some slack. All of us do get annoyed sometimes at RTFM questions. I'm sure you would too if you were in our position.

                      Thanks!
                      So simple, wasn't it?

                        sometimes == always :-)

I can't abide lazy users knee jerking every problem into the JBoss forums
without thought. It just makes the search function unusable.
The internet search engines are becoming more and more unusable
because all you can find are these type of posts that usually go unanswered.
