Hypersonic DB become corrupt fairly often, JMS startup fails

I'm using JBoss 4.0.0 for development and JMS with Hypersonic for messaging.

I have to delete the contents of my JBOSS_HOME\server\default\data\hypersonic directory at least once a week because JBoss Messaging will not start. It appears that there is data corruption which prevents JBoss messaging from starting.

Does anyone know why this is happens so frequently or whether this is common? Is this a Hypersonic problem or a JBoss/JMS problem that leaves the data in a corrupted state?

Hypersonic is basically rubbish. It ships with JBoss just to have a database for running the testsuite (for entity beans, datasources, jms etc.) Put in a proper db backing JMS. See the FAQ for more details
