JMS Resource Adapter

I've configurged a local JMS resource adapter to connect with a JMS Queue through the UIL2 service on a remote JBoss. Both are 4.0.3SP1. Communication works without problem. But, I was hoping this approach would avoid me having to deal with handling re-connect after the external server was bounced. I don't have acces to the Connection object to use the solution described in http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=IGetIOExceptionPingTimeoutHowDoIFixIt.

Are there any options that would allow the Resouce Adapter to recover after temporary connection to external JMS Queue?

The JMS Resource Adapter already handles the exception listener for you.
Since there is an exception listener, it will not log the ping timeout message.

Hence you are not using jms resource adapter for some connections
and not installing an exception listener on those connections.

I've seen this reported so many times. It is always user error.
