Using external messaging Provider with JBOSS server

Hi,

Need help for JBOSS Messaging.
We need to implement an MDB which will listen to Sonic MQ or Websphere MQ (external JMS Provider) destination.
Would like to know the steps to configure the same. Does JBOSS console provide any configuration for an external JMS Provider ?

Both are quite different and require external configuration mechanism to configure and get running.

For Sonic, your best bet is to use their JCA adapter. Depending upon your license agreement, this is provided by Sonic.

For WebSphereMQ please refer to the JBoss Wiki:

Do you mean for Sonic we need just the configuration or we have to write some custom code as well?

No, you will just need their JCA adapter. No custom code is necessary.

I understand that JCA Adapter would be the easiest and best way to integrate with Sonic
But in case we dont have JCA Adapter, will the external configuration suffice to make the Message Driven Bean listen to Sonic MQ Destination or we would need some custom code as well?

Either way is fine. The JCA/JMS adapter is fairly new the old way of integrating is still relevant.

Just required to integrate JBOSS with SonicMQ, but don't have JCA Adapter. Could you please let me know what would be the alternative approach you are talking about? Is it something related to mbean org.jboss.naming.ExternalContext

Please provide any link or example for same.

Dear Mr. Adrian,

You are not trying to understand my question. There are one way to intigrate SonicMQ with JBOSS is using JCA API provided by Sonic.

But my problem is that I have not that API and it looks from this thread there is another old way to implement.

I jsut wanted to help on this old way how can I do that

I hve done a lot of research on internet from last one week, but nothing is fruitful.

Please help me on that.
