Hi,

is there a way to monitor service availability by making http request to a service of interest out-of-the-box in JON, i.e. which verify that a response is received and the response-time?

I'm pretty sure the NetworkServices plugin is what you want.

that's the descriptor for that plugin - it shows you the resources/metrics it supports.
