discovery of new agents

Is it possible to have discovered agents be automattically imported into the inventory? Without having to manually login to the console ?

No, not with the current version of the product. An administrator (actually, someone that has the MANAGE_INVENTORY permission on one of their roles) must explicitly select which to import (or ignore).

The next release will feature a client interface (CLI) that will expose this functionality as a service. Using it, you could write the import (or ignore) logic into a script, and then use cron to have the CLI execute the commands in that script file on a regular basis.

There's currently no release planned, but I expect we'll do one some time in the next couple months. In the mean time, you could grab a snapshot build from http://hudson.jboss.org/hudson/job/Jopr/lastSuccessfulBuild/ or build it yourself.
