yoge_babu Oct 12, 2003 11:57 PM (in response to prema6)Dear Juha,
My requirement is to check whether JBoss server is running in a machine or not.
One solution is looking for RMIAdaptor in JNDI.For this I need JBoss Client.
Iam searching for a simple alternative that doesnt need the JBoss client.
Thanks in Advance for your help..
Regards

In JBoss, the http response do not say anything about JBoss. How can I be sure that JBoss is running on that machine. A standalone tomcat/apache webserver will also respond to the HTTP reuest. -

juha Oct 20, 2003 4:26 AM (in response to prema6)JBoss is a microkernel. If there are no services running on it, then there's no connection points to it. It depends what services you have configured to listen to external ports where you can ping to. HTTP port is one such example.

We have decided to use RMI Adaptor lookup to ping the server.
Once again thanks for your reply
