I'm an IT guy with a company that develops in JBOSS. I was asked to find some sort of software that not only monitors JBOSS instances, but individual applications within those instances (we multihome) and allow stopping and starting of these individual applications from the interface.
ManageEngine Applications Manager can monitor your JBoss instances and also your web applications if you have the management information exposed via JBossMX or SNMP.

It does not provide stopping and starting of these individual applications. But there is a provision to execute a script (.bat or .sh) from the Web Console. If you can write a script then this feature may be useful."robroth" wrote:
I've written a ton of shell scripts to try to manage all this, but a nice web based solution that all the developers could use for stop/start and the IT guys can use for monitoring would be ideal. Does such a tool exist (Windows or Linux preferably)?
We also have an enhancement coming where we can execute any custom script and graph, alert, report the attributes returned.
fyi : Applications Manager supports Windows and Linux.
