I created .war directory inside deploy.
Also created WEB-INF and index.html under .war
Placed web.xml inside WEB-INF
Still getting same error.
JBOSS Version: 3 beta with TOMCAT 4.0.2
JDK Version 1.4
Running under windows 2000.
Please Help...

Yes the starting point is:

but it seems it does not work for Jboss 3.0beta + Tomcat 4.0.1
Instead of copying ROOT.war to $JBOSS_HOME/deploy/.war I copied it to $JBOSS_HOME/deploy/ROOT.war and it worked!
