HELP!! JBoss 3 hangs if not connected to service provider!

Hi

This is 2 days down the line and I am very concerned with my IQ.

I'm TRYING to run JBoss 3 RC1 on Madrake Linux 8.2 and it hangs except if I am connected to my dial-up service provider.

ANY ideas greatly appreciated.
