rerender not working with richfaces

Is it possible to rerender a a4j:commandLink inside rich faces data table.
i use this inside datatable but not working.

rich dataTable allows column (h:column, rich:column) as a child. Having a4j:commandLink as a direct child of datatable does not make sense.

<a4j:log>

to figure out the problem using log of the ajax request.

what exactly does not work? I mean what are you use case, expectations and the practical behavior.

my structure of form is like this

|edit window

i click on edit link in datatable it will open one form i edit some fields
and save that form
then result should be immediately reflected in the datatable.
but it is not working in this case.
