1. Re: Any plans on making a setup.exe or bin for JBoss?
triathlon98 Jan 15, 2003 12:03 PM (in response to nikolaj)Is there a need?
Installation is so simple, just unzip/tar the archive in the prefered location and start bin/run.bat or bin/run.sh
As long as JAVA_HOME is set this work just great.

sverker Jan 15, 2003 5:44 PM (in response to nikolaj)I would say that yes, there is a need. It's not that simple if you want to e.g. install JBoss to run as a service in Windows, with IIS integration etc. The more convenient it can be made to run it, the more people will use it. That is also true for easy to use administration tools.
I can contribute with a rpm spec file for linux right away if someone can give me a hint of how to include it in the JBoss project and am looking into building a Windows installer package. In either way I need it for my own activities. -

nikolaj Feb 10, 2003 4:06 AM (in response to nikolaj)Hi Juha,
Hmm, just saw the page. Think I have to talk with the salespeople :-)
Has somebody made it for Windows. If so, we drop our current installers (I hope).
I just saw your name... you replied to my message about Jboss sending signal when deploy has finished. I would be happy if you took a look at my post there.
Thanks.
