downloading .doc and .pdf files from webapllication installe

hi,
we have a war file which is copied to JBOSS_ROOT/server/default/deploy folder.

we have the requirement that .doc and .pdf files be stored in the server and can be accessed using the URL http://server:8080/my_app/mydoc.doc.

what configuration needs to be done to achive this, any help would be greatly appreciated.

response.setContentType(something/something) on your servlet response... read the file stream and push it to the client?

Thank you for your reply.

We are currently following the same approach which you told.

our requirement is to give relative URL for the document and download from that link on a page.

Can it be done with the JBOSS?
