UILServerILService failure preventing shutdown in JBOSS 3.0

I'm running into a strange failure shutting down JBoss 3.0.6, 3.0.7 and 3.2.1
on Mandrake Linux. The output of `uname -a` is

Linux localhost 2.4.18-6mdk #1 Fri Mar 15 02:59:08 CET 2002 i686 unkown

In all three cases, the failure occurs even if I make no configuration changes [just unzip and `java -jar run.jar &`]. It seems like the invoker service is deploying before another service which relies upon it. The UILServerILService fails to shutdown with a

SocketException occured (Connection reset by peer?). Cannot initialize the UILServerILService.

I have attached the output of the startup and shutdown sequences.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
