m_vdb Apr 18, 2006 9:20 AM (in response to javatwo)No, you can't. As the poster before already mentioned, also on Linux the ports < 1024 are so called 'privileged ports' and therefore you can just bind a service when you are root.
Running the server on something like 8080 / 2407 / .. should be no problem.
