1. Re: accessing Jboss from intranet
jaikiran May 2, 2008 11:20 AM (in response to majhong)Please post the console logs when you start JBoss with -b 0.0.0.0 option. When you access the server using http://< IP address>:8080/ what happens? Do you see any error messages in the logs or does the browser show any messages?

What we are trying to do is make Drools, configured on this machine, available to other machines. We can ping this machine and remote into it but have had no luck accessing JBoss -
3. Re: accessing Jboss from intranet
majhong May 2, 2008 2:07 PM (in response to majhong)When we go to the ip address of the Jboss machine we get a " HTTP 400 bad request - page cannot be found" error

Did you change anything in the default installation of JBoss? Going by this log, JBoss is available at port 80 and not the default 8080. Try accessing http://< ipaddress>:80/
-
5. Re: accessing Jboss from intranet
majhong May 7, 2008 10:24 AM (in response to majhong)Yes we changed the port numbers from the default 8080; We thought IIS might be intefering with JBoss so we disabled it completely and set JBoss to use port 80: From another machine, typing in http://<ip address>:80 gives us the same "Page cannot be displayed error" as before.

6. Re: accessing Jboss from intranet
jaikiran May 7, 2008 10:45 AM (in response to majhong)What do the following commands output when run from that remote system:
telnet < ipaddress> 1099
telnet < ipaddress> 80

7. Re: accessing Jboss from intranet
majhong May 7, 2008 2:13 PM (in response to majhong)telnet to port 80 doesn't do anything. Just sits there.
telnet to port 1099 returns the following

george001 May 8, 2008 11:22 AM (in response to majhong)Do you have a message in the Event Log in windows when you attempt that connection?

9. Re: accessing Jboss from intranet
majhong May 8, 2008 2:44 PM (in response to majhong)No, no events in the event log under internet explorer, applications, security or system.
I hadn't thought of checking that. Thanks. -

Probably that port is blocked for access. Do you have any anti-virus or firewalls installed which might be interfering? -
11. Re: accessing Jboss from intranet
majhong May 9, 2008 1:47 PM (in response to majhong)We disabled Windows firewall. We have TrendMicro antivirus but disabling it doesn't help. It seems like a port issue. JBoss will load on the localhost but we can't get to it from another machine no matter what we try. Thanks for all your ideas. It is a mystery.
