slaboure Feb 21, 2002 4:50 AM (in response to hans_tw)Hello,
Yes, as Bill said, HttpSession clustering is being worked on. In fact, everything is in place but we need some testing, debugging, ...

hans_tw Feb 22, 2002 3:54 AM (in response to hans_tw)Dear all,
That wll be great. I am watching JBoss for almost 8 months. Our ongoing project will use JBoss as our AP Server. As I understand JBoss architechture more, I believe JBoss must be better than some commercial product.
Thanks for your help. By the way, I saw the JBoss 3.0 Beta was just released on Sourceforge.

tnguyen Feb 25, 2002 1:30 PM (in response to hans_tw)Hi,
Will HttpSession clustering be supported in JBoss_3-Tomcat, JBoss_3-Jetty or both? We're currently looking into JBoss-Tomcat as an alternate solution for WLS 6.1 clustering environment we have in our company.
Thanks,

5. Re: Will JBoss 3.0 release support HttpSession clustering ?
slaboure Feb 26, 2002 5:36 AM (in response to hans_tw)Hello Tam,
We are currently only implementing support for Jetty. Implementing HttpSession clustering means implementing code on the Jetty side and on the JBoss side. Once done, we may imagine to have some specific code for Tomcat but this has not yet been evaluated.
Why don't you consider using Jetty instead of Tomcat? Why do you prefer Tomcat? Please take a look at Jetty, it is a really great servlet container + it doesn't need a web server as it is a full featured web server by itself.
cheers,

6. Re: YES!! Will JBoss 3.0 release support HttpSession cluster
fhanik Feb 26, 2002 2:22 PM (in response to hans_tw)Tomcat clustering is already done, I have an implementation ready and documented, note, this code has not yet made it into the Apache-Tomcat CVS tree.

billjudy Mar 13, 2002 10:12 PM (in response to hans_tw)Hi Slaboure,
We are building a web-based application. HttpSession clustering is an important feature. We glad to see Jboss3.0/Jetty support HttpSession clustering. we try to test this feature, but failure.
Can you give us some suggestions? How to set up valid HttpSession clustering environment ?

8. Re: Will JBoss 3.0 release support HttpSession clustering ?
jdbrown Apr 10, 2002 10:22 AM (in response to hans_tw)I see some conflicting info - do we use Jetty or Tomcat within JBoss to acheieve HTTPSession clustering? My understanding is the using the internal Jetty would have performance over the external Tomcat. Is there any documentation on configuring Jetty for HTTPSession clustering within JBoss?

9. Re: Will JBoss 3.0 release support HttpSession clustering ?
kbaker Apr 12, 2002 12:26 AM (in response to hans_tw)I would like to try clustering jboss 3/Jetty. Where would I get the current jboss/jetty beta?
There is a JBoss-2.4.4_Jetty-3.1.7-1.zip for jboss 2.4.4 but I don't see one for Jetty.
Should I just download the jboss 3 beta and configure it with Jetty? -
10. Re: Will JBoss 3.0 release support HttpSession clustering ?
davepatterson May 13, 2002 12:05 PM (in response to hans_tw)I feel more confident using Tomcat because it is supported by the Jakarta group and has a large user/developer base. This lends the project credibility in the eyes of senior management.
I don't have any objection to jetty but they both do the same job so why would I not want to use the more popular/mature option?

11. Re: Will JBoss 3.0 release support HttpSession clustering ?
jules May 18, 2002 9:35 PM (in response to hans_tw)JBoss3 contains a preliminary implementation of Distributed HttpSessions for Jetty based on the JBoss clustering infrastructure.
This is NOT available in 2.4.* releases.
See the FAQ in the jetty dir in CVS and comments in the jetty-plugin.sar/META-INF/jboss-service.xml.
Comments would be much appreciated as I shall shortly be working through this again with any feedback that I receive.
