jboss-3.0.4_tomcat-4.1.12 perfmormance

We are using jboss-3.0.4_tomcat-4.1.12 bundle. But when the number increases, the speed is very slow. How can we configure the jboss-3.0.4_tomcat-4.1.12 to increase the speed?Thanks in advance.

The best way to start is to give more particular details. The number of what? requests, db connections, records retrieved etc etc?

The number of access is more than 500. Requests are 130. DB connections are 50. After 30 minutes the server throw many exceptions. For instance the tomcat flushBuffer exception, socket write error, connection reset by peer etc. Then the server shut down itself.

The number of user is about 200. I do nont know the number of the database accesses.Using JDBC connection.
