Load test on JBoss 3.2.1

Hi All,

I did a load test on JBoss 3.2.1. The test is to access the jmx-console application.
Server: JBoss 3.2.1 with Jetty as the web server
Server env: Windows XP Professional, Sun JDK 1.4.1_02
Load test tool: load runner
Concurrent Virtural Users: 250
MaxThreads in jboss-services.xml of jbossweb-jetty.sar: 300


The result is that 158 virtual users failed to connect to the server.

Are there any ways to improve the performance?

You might consider using the IBM SDK. They have some performance tweaks for server operations - particularly with respect to handled connections. See http://www.volano.com/report/ to get a feel for what is going on. I'd try the 1.4 first and perhaps the 1.3 if that isn't satisfactory. O(r perhaps if you could get hold of JRockit ... something I haven't tried yet.
