Threading scalability concerns using Linux ??

Hello,
The JBoss for Administrators course (RH336) mentions the following:

Thread scalability is your most important concern
Java applications are heavily threaded
Burden on the OS is on the efficiency and scalability of thread scheduling
Thread scalability on Linux has been an issue

I'm wondering whether threading scalability on Linux is still a concern? Anybody know of any recent articles/discussions/stress test results on this topic involving JBoss (> 4.0.5 ), RHEL 5 and Sun JDK1.5 ??

This might be old text. In earlier kernels, each thread ran as a process but this was changed more recent kernels (can't recall which kernel level fixed this, but I know it was in RHEL 4).

Our experience with recent kernels (RHEL 4/5, SLES 9/10) indicates that threading is not an issue.
