What would be required to implement Web Services on JBoss-2.4.3_Jetty-3.1.3-1 ?

Probably an Axis 1.1 installation - http://xml.apache.org/axis. I haven't tried it so I couldn't guarantee the success of this but in theory, there should be no large technical problems. You may need to move classes around from the standard Axis deployment. See previous posts on Axis with current JBoss releases.
