    caveli

I executed run.bat. The dos screen display: Started in 0m:18s:969ms. Then i used: http://localhost:8080/ and the error page is displayed:
Apache Tomcat/4.0.4 - HTTP Status 500 - No Context configured to process this request

      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

      type Status report

message No Context configured to process this request

description The server encountered an internal error (No Context configured to process this request) that prevented it from fulfilling this request.

      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I work with Win2000. Before install JBoss I had installed jakarta-tomcat-4.0.1 and run well alone.
      Any sugest?
      Thanks.

jboss does not come with any default or sample app so you need to deploy one
          yourself.

This probably shoulld be a faq, or the jboss team should through a simple application there
to avoid these (another thing that jboss can do far better at with minimal effort).
almost all other product that i use come with some sort of test or sample
          app/pages prepackaged.

I would really like to contribute to this (including running sample apps in each
dist) and wondering how I can do this.

I am just a newbie (to jboss) and don't want to see precious jboss developer time
          wasted on such trivia.

You would be a hero if you contributed something.

One of the things I really liked about the HP AS and MS is the default set of apps that it ships with. Just enough to let you know that all installed ok. And you of course get all the source to get you up to speed on your own quickly.

            Please, go for it!

I've tried this problem before. Here is a trick for resolving it.
First start tomcat by typing "startup.bat",then start jboss. All will be ok!

              good luck
