JBoss Tomcat Bundle NOOBIE question

Okay I have everything working, datasource working, JSP war file deployment working, ejb template working.

I have one question that I'm not clear on.

If JBoss will deploy a JSP application then why would I want to download it Bundled with Tomcat?

I did download it bundled with Tomcat because I know tomcat well but it appears that the tomcat is not functional, maybe I'm missing something.

What is the purpose?

Tomcat is the servlet engine.

If you are not using tomcat you are using jetty the build in servlet engine

presumably you downloaded jboss which is combined with jetty as jboss-web. (it's just better hidden).
The tomcat version will do the same thing, but you won't be able to get at the tomcat directory, jboss just uses it.
So if you like tomcat go tomcat otherwise use the default (jetty).
