Not able to see a class in another jar file

I have a jar file (MM.jar) with my own ejb's in it, and it is referencing a helper class in a hibernate2.jar file.

I have deployed my MM.jar file in the %JBOSS_HOME%\server\default\deploy directory, and I have unsuccessfully tried running jboss putting the hibernate2.jar file in the following directories
%JBOSS_HOME%\lib
%JBOSS_HOME%\server\default\lib
and neither of them work...

When I run jboss I get the following exception -

Is there a setting that I am missing, or do I need to incorporate my jar file and the hibernate2.jar into a war/ear file?
Is there something that I can read which will point me in the right direction?

Just a question out of curosity on this thread.
How does the rebooting of machine effects the redeployment of an ear file.
If someone can explain it will be good.

I did not restart my machine previously when I copied the hibernate file into the \server\default\lib directory, so I tried it and it does not make a difference. Why would it?

I would have thought that copying the hibernate2.jar file to the \server\default\lib directory would suffice (perhaps with a restart). Is there a file I need to update to get the file to be seen by jboss when it starts up?

By 'rebooted' I think that Adrian meant after putting your hibernate2.jar file into server/default/lib stop and start JBoss not rebooting your machine.

JBoss automatically includes all of the jars in the server/default/lib when it starts up but does not include any new ones that are added later.

Is your hibernate2.jar definately a valid jar, can you see if it contains the HibernateException that is being reported as missing?

I solved the problem by installing hibernate as a service in jboss... please see the following (it explains why there seems to be an issue with loading hibernate into jboss also)
