    JBOSS Vs OpenEJB

Are JBOSS and Open EJB entirely diffrent? If so how and which is advantageous to use?

Yes they are. JBoss is a full, J2EE certified middleware platform. OpenEJB is merely an EJB container, nothing more. The two cannot really be even compared.

Is the EJB Container of JBOSS based on Open EJB EJB Container? If no then is there any reason for having two different stream of development in the Open source community?

Open source isn't a communist or socialist doctrine. there is differentiation, specialization, and competition. Thus I don't fault them for creating their own EJB container instead of using JBoss's.
