junkken May 26, 2005 9:56 AM (in response to junkken)I certainly respect the value of paid support.
However, I am setting up a system as proof of concept in a lab and will introduce the idea and the technology at work only after I become familiar enough with the product.
Paid support comes when the product is deployed and Management wants to pay for professional support AND training.
I think the attitude of "pay to get your questions answered" is the wrong approach, and contrary to the concept of Open Source development. -

darranl May 26, 2005 10:05 AM (in response to junkken)Here are a couple of links on how to make use of forums: -

Unanswered questions generally don't follow these guidelines.
Regarding your specific problem that you have posted - I have never seen Tomcat fail to start without a stack trace in the error log or a message at the end saying that it failed to deploy. If these are not present I would need to look more closely at what has happened. -

starksm64 May 26, 2005 10:26 AM (in response to junkken)What is contrary to open source is demanding answers. Either make it worth the trouble for someone to answer or read the docs. If free docs, examples, product, source code, and forums are not enough, pay to not waste your time.
