Where the cached data stores if JBoss shut down suddenly, while it's processing it?

Is JBoss stored all the cached data in HSQL (embedded database ?) and perform some sort of Microsoft Syn service (http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/sync )?
or SQL CE Merge replication (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms171927.aspx ) at run time?
