manik Jul 15, 2008 5:44 AM (in response to rjivan)As a replacement for your Hibernate 2nd level cache?

2. Re: Tomcat / Srping/ Hibernate
rjivan Jul 15, 2008 2:25 PM (in response to rjivan)Yes, I have seen that. The issue is that I don't want to use a JTA transaction, and couldn't find a way to integrate Spring's Hibernate transaction with JBoss Cache.

manik Jul 16, 2008 6:51 AM (in response to rjivan)JBoss Cache only uses JTA transactions - there is a reason why JTA is a standard! ;)

rjivan Jul 17, 2008 7:47 AM (in response to rjivan)hmm..I have a single DB and didn't want the overhead of a JTA transaction. Is a transaction required for JBossCache to work?

jason.greene Jul 17, 2008 5:55 PM (in response to rjivan)You must be thinking of XA and not JTA. JTA is just an API .
See the JBoss Cache docs, transactions are not needed if you don't want them.
