Is there any way to know number of present active database connection through connection pooling directly from JBOSS server?

Have a look at the jmx-console (http://localhost:8080/jmx-console): name=MyPool,service=ManagedConnectionPool under jboss.jca.

Click through that link and you will get information on MyPool. Adjust the example according to your requirements.
