1. Re: more default configuration by JBossIDE
acoliver Apr 5, 2004 3:00 PM (in response to spiritualmechanic)more defaults...
So I configure the freaking subtask and I enter the substitution thingy to rename the package. Basically I just enter a value on one of the subTask.
I FORGET TO CHECK THE SUBTASK. (yeah yeah I know it says everywhere in the tutorial TO CHECK THE SUBTASK etc etc). But I forgot. The XDoclet run fails MISERABLY with a wonderful "dude NULL POINTER EXCEPTION" with no more context.
1- Check box values I enter by default. When I enter a value in the freaking IDE 99% of the time it is because I am going to want that value passed to the subtask, otherwise WHY WOULD I TYPE IT? So when type OK on the value it should checkbox it. Then I can remove the stuff if I want.
2- On the context of the exceptions they are really obscure. NPE could dump some context (as in "you dummy you forgot to define the substition parameters in the substitution package). I guess this goes for the guy who developed the substitution sub-task in XDoclet.... yo... I am not sure this will reach him. -
