How to secure richfaces menu items using acegi

I am currently using Richfaces, Acegi, Facelets and myFaces. I have used richfaces to create a series of drop down menus with multiple menuitem objects. Is there any way to secure (Not display) menu items based on the user's role set? Some of the other frameworks have a rendered on role feature that integrates with Acegi. Is there any strategy to support this type of behavour.

Or if Agegi can't be integrated, is there a where to easily do something equivalent to the "enabledOnUserRole" Tomahawk property ?
