Starting and Stoppint remote servers

Is it possible to start and stop remote servers using JBoss-IDE. I have JBoss 3.2.6 running on a Linux server and I am using Eclipse/JBoss-Ide on my WinXP desktop.

I have noticed the "JBoss Remote" configuration but when I try to use it I encounter a "Failed to connect to remote VM - Connection refused" exception what port do I need to specify?

The remote option is for you to connect the debugger remotely to an already running JBoss server.
