Code Completion Not Working

Hello,

I'm going through the JBoss EJB 3.0 Tools TrailBlazer tutorial, and code completion for annotations (e.g. @Entity) is not working.

Eclipse Version:

Version: 3.1.1
Build id: M20050929-0840

JBoss IDE Version:

1.4.1.e31-jre15 - installed from within Eclipse via Help->Software Updates
JBossIDE-1.5RC2-ALL.zip - installed by unzipping into plugin directory

Any ideas?

have you added the annotation libraries and enabled jdk 5 support on the project?

Hi Max,

The libraries in the Java Build Path (Project->Properties->Java Build Path->Libraries) for the project include:

+ JBossAOP 1.3 Libraries (jdk 1.5)
+ JBoss EJB3 Libraries [JBoss 4.0.3SP1 with EJB3]
+ JRE System Library [jre1.5.0_06]

The hibernate-annotations.jar file is included in the EJB3 libraries. Is this the correct annotations library you write of?

The currently selected JRE (Preferenes->Java=>Installed JREs) is jre1.5.0_06. Do I need to do anything else to enable JDK 5 support?

right click on a project and check if Java Compiler/Compiler Compliance level is set to 5.0.

The Java Compiler/Compiler Compliance level was and is set to 5.0.

Hi Max,

Yes, Cntrl-Space does work. I recently read that in the knowledge base as well. Thanks for your help.

I understand that code completion for annotations is an Eclipse issue. I wonder why @<first letter> Cntrl-Space is necessary instead of @ and an automatic response.

This really really should be mentioned in the JBoss IDE EJB 3.0 Tools trailblazer video or any kind of (official) documentation !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Feelt sooo stupid not being able to get code completation to work :-(
