Update site has outdated Hibernate Tools

The JBossIDE update site still has "Hibernate Tools 3.1.0-beta4a", while http://tools.hibernate.org/ has 3.1.0beta5.

Does this mean that 3.1.0-beta4a is stable and 3.1.0beta5 is not? I thought beta meant "not stable".
What's the rationale behind these version numbers?
