luan Jan 23, 2006 10:04 PM (in response to luan)Hi,
Thanks for the quick response.
I had deploy problem when I used JDK 1.4 with JWSDP 1.6 on JBoss 4.0.2, got java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError:(Unsupported major.minor version 49.0) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass.......
Is JDK 5.0 a required version for deploying web service on JBoss 4.0.2 using JWSDP 1.6?
Just want to confirm with you so that I can convince my colleague to upgrade to JDK 5.0.
Thanks,

3. Re: JBossWS/JDK/JWSDP matching versions
jason.greene Jan 23, 2006 10:18 PM (in response to luan)When you install the JWSDP it hardcodes the path to whatever JVM you have installed at the time. So if you originally installed it with JDK4, and then later install JDK 5, it will still reference 4.
It also ignores JAVA_HOME

4. Re: JBossWS/JDK/JWSDP matching versions
jason.greene Jan 23, 2006 10:20 PM (in response to luan)I forgot to mention. The evil file in question is jwsdp-shared/bin/setenv.sh or setenv.bat.
What I do for my install, is delete the JAVA_HOME entry in both files so that my user JAVA_HOME is actually used to specify the JVM.

5. Re: JBossWS/JDK/JWSDP matching versions
luan Jan 24, 2006 10:30 AM (in response to luan)Thanks, that's good to know.
What I did was uninstalled JWSDP 1.6 and reinstalled it with JDK5.0 again, I also had to change the JAVA_HOME in autoexec.bat under C drive to point to JDK5.0.
So JDK 1.4 is not an option if using JWSDP 1.6 with JBoss 4.0.2, is that true?
Thanks,

6. Re: JBossWS/JDK/JWSDP matching versions
jason.greene Jan 30, 2006 9:07 PM (in response to luan)no you can run on either, you just have to consistently use the same jdk. I.E. you can't compile classes with JDK 1.5 and run them under JRE 1.4.
