1. Re: How can I build jbossws14 from jboss-head?
hbraun Feb 8, 2006 5:41 AM (in response to claprun)Update to head, resetting any sticky tag (-A option) and then
rebuild jbossws for jdk 1.4:ant clean deploy-jbossws14
Does this answer your question? -

claprun Feb 8, 2006 12:29 PM (in response to claprun)
Yes, it does answer my question. I was using the JBossWS_1_0_Beta tag and there's no target called deploy-jbossws14 in webservice.

3. Re: How can I build jbossws14 from jboss-head?
claprun Feb 8, 2006 6:31 PM (in response to claprun)Actually, this doesn't quite work. The ANT target doesn't appear to do anything. Looking at the target, deploy-jbossws14 is only executed if the "retro" property is set to true. Is that property computed at runtime (i.e. I would expect it to be set to true if the current java version is 1.4 or earlier) or does it need to be explicitely set up?
I tried to set the "retro" property to true but the build process then fails with the following error:webservice/build.xml:342: java.lang.RuntimeException: /Users/claprun/Dev/jboss-head/ejb3/output/lib/jboss-ejb3.jar not found.

4. Re: How can I build jbossws14 from jboss-head?
thomas.diesler Feb 9, 2006 5:59 AM (in response to claprun)Chris,
why do you need jbossws14 in jboss-4.0.x? Here are your options in order of preference
1) work in jboss-head
2) drop jbossws.sar that you build in jboss-head in jboss-4.0.x running on jdk-1.5
3) drop jbossws14.sar that you build in jboss-head in jboss-4.0.x running on jdk-1.4
To build jbossws14.sar, runcd jboss-head/webservice ant -Dretro=true

5. Re: How can I build jbossws14 from jboss-head?
claprun Feb 10, 2006 10:13 AM (in response to claprun)Can't do either 1 or 2 since Portal needs to run on JBoss 4 on JDK 1.4.
As far as building jbossws14 goes, I executed the command as written, resulting in the error mentioned in http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBWS-705...[/url] -
6. Re: How can I build jbossws14 from jboss-head?
thomas.diesler Feb 14, 2006 1:05 PM (in response to claprun)If you have MacOS issues, you can build on any of the QA lab linux boxes (e.g. dev02.atl.jboss.com)

claprun Feb 14, 2006 1:34 PM (in response to claprun)Thanks. However this has been fixed with JBWS-705 so everything is fine now.

I got the same issue and it is because you don't build it with Java 5. -

claprun Feb 18, 2006 9:24 PM (in response to claprun)Yeah I found that out while working with Jason. I should have posted here in case someone ran into the same issue...
