subtable add TR(s) to the rich:dataTable. So, it should be a direct child of rich:table, not column

The example in the online demo has subTable as a child of column. I looked for "rich:table" in the entire dev guide, and it only appears once, in a code sample, and without any mention in the text.

Oh. now I see it. I didn't notice the end tag for "column" just before the subtable started. That leaves me with the next question, of whether you meant to say "rich:table", instead of "rich:dataTable" as I expected. As I said, if you search for "rich:table" in the dev guide, you'll find it once, in a code sample, but without any mention.

Note: customer is a list which contains a list of addresses.

i reason to put subtable inside column of data table so that i will not print name on each and every row for list of address.

but i could not display properly

If you desire to insert a table inside the column, use rich:dataTable, instead of rich:subTable

If I were you, I pay attention on rowspan attribute of rich:column to create such table. Using this future it is possible to use rich dataTable and subTable to show users and several addresses for each of them in the second column.

Would that allow a single "linear" set of headers for the entire table? I filed an ER recently to address just that need. I noticed it was assigned and set for 3.2.0 (which I won't be able to use for a while, unfortunately).

Can you give an example for this? I generated rowspan from size of my child list but no chance to get it working (layout).

more infos:
I use RichFaces 3.2.1 with JSF 1.2 RI 1.2_08

My problems occur if i try to make a table with 4 columns:
- 1 text column left
- 1 subtable with two columns
- 1 text column right

where can i set colspan for the subtable?
