1. Re: How to show nothing for rich:message if no message
sergeysmirnov Jan 20, 2008 2:13 AM (in response to dkarr)In general, you can use h:panelGroup component to wrap rich:message. It will reserve the space inside the grid. "passedLabel" is not about reserving the space.
However, missing rich:message should not break the layout inside the h:panelGrid. What if you replace rich:message with h:message? Does it keep the layout better. -

dkarr Jan 20, 2008 3:01 AM (in response to dkarr)Well, I don't understand it, but the layout problems seemed to go away even before I tried changing "rich:message" to "h:message". I'm not sure what, or if, I changed to make that happen. However, changing to "h:message" did fix the other problem, of it displaying " " when there were no messages.

sergeysmirnov Jan 20, 2008 11:52 AM (in response to dkarr)h:message is not an Ajax-enabled component. You need to use rich:message.

dkarr Jan 20, 2008 12:14 PM (in response to dkarr)Sigh. I don't get it. Now "rich:message" is working fine, not displaying " " but just blank.
