    3.2 alpha 1 release

    crgunn

Does anybody know if there is an approximate planned release date for jBPM 3.2 alpha 1. I haven't used jBoss before but am interested in the document management supported that is to be added in this release.

      Thanks

We are currently fixing our build system after a big project layout rearrangement. Once this is done, the 3.2 alpha1 will be out shortly...
This should probably be next week, maybe the week after that.

          Regards,

Don't expect to much at this time for document management. Yes, JCR (JSR-170) is used, but the functionality is limited to be able to upload documents as part of a process. Do not expect functionality like Alfresco would give you.

One of my clients currently only needs minimal functionality for document management in conjunction with the inventory management system I am building for them.

What is the time estimate for the release of a fairly stable 3.2 release? Will it have minimal versioning capabilities?

              Is Alfresco any good?

In my (not so humble ;-) ) opinion Alfresco is great. They also use JCR-170, have the JBoss portal integrated, have ntlm authentication, webdav/cifs and webinterface access to documents and are in the process of also including jBPM for workflow things.
