kukeltje Aug 24, 2007 11:11 AM (in response to rossputin)you can use any jsf component.....richfaces e.g. (although that datepicker is kind of limited)

3. Re: using custom date picker in form within jbpm-console web
rossputin Sep 5, 2007 5:37 AM (in response to rossputin)Hi,
this is really a question aimed at Ronald or anyone else who has or knows how to integrate the Richfaces date picker component into a jpdl generated form.
I have successfully put a richfaces date picker into the jbpm:dataform element...<rich:calendar value="#{calendarBean.selectedDate}" locale="#{calendarBean.locale}" popup="#{calendarBean.popup}" datePattern="#{calendarBean.pattern}"/>
but the value attribute which grabs the selected date from the calendar component is not written to the database when the form is saved, obviously because it would need to be 'value="#{var['due-date']}"' or some variable name like that. My first thought was to have a hidden input with 'value="#{var['due-date']}"', and then copy the date picker value into that, but I am unsure how I should execute javascript to do that upon form submission.
Has anyone integrated the date picker component so it writes its value to the database upon saving? I am having trouble understanding how to do this.
Thanks for your help,

4. Re: using custom date picker in form within jbpm-console web
kukeltje Sep 5, 2007 6:37 AM (in response to rossputin)is value="#{var['due-date']}" or just value="#{due-date}" not working or doe you need to initially retrieve it from the calendarBean?
A 'hook' for executing additional javascript before posting is a nice extension, but currently indeed not working afaik. -

rossputin Sep 5, 2007 7:03 AM (in response to rossputin)You are quite right,
it would be nice to have a hook for javascript, but for now I do not 'need' to initially retrieve from the bean, I just thought it would be nice to programatically define defaults etc. Perhaps if it comes up elsewhere we can have a vote for hooks etc,
thanks

do you mean my proposal worked? -

rossputin Sep 6, 2007 4:17 AM (in response to rossputin)no sorry I meant that you are right about the javascript hook not being needed, but still a nice idea, it is something I have been seeing a use for, for a while,
cheers

kukeltje Sep 6, 2007 4:26 AM (in response to rossputin)oh btw, you *can* attach onchange eventlisteners to normal jsf components and have these do some javascript. It is on on the submit moment then, but real-time.... is even better and can be done *now*
