    JBoss jBPM has the fundationation for an ERP?

      Hello all,
      I am interested to know your view on using JBoss jBPM has the fundation for an ERP system, consisting on:
      Service Management
      -> Taking booking
      -> Dispatch service call to technician
      Query/Fault Management
      Account Management/Invoicing (AR)
      Account Payable
      General Ledger

      For about 2000 users - assuming all the hardware are available.

      I am thinking of doing the above with JBoss jBPM. However, my concern would be:
      * Is it possible (I am still reading up on jBPM)
      * If possible, should I?

      I am unable to find anyone has done it in the past other than this post:

          it has the foundation, but to say it is the major part of an ERP system, no. Combining seam and jbpm to make a full fledged ERP system would be interesting and possible. Depends on how much work you'd like to put into it. I know it is not based on seam/jbpm, but compiere is a very nice opensource ERP/CRM system.

            I did have a quick look at Compiere and its fork, Adempiere. Without much knowledge of either of the two, I am not sure these two will serve the needs/wants yet. I will look into these two in more detail.
            However, I am thinking of getting away from the "monotithic" ERP system and get into more web services "oriented" architecture. I am also hoping to base the system on JBoss and BPM. Hence this investigation.

            I am going to setup a team of 5 full-time developers to develop the new ERP system for our company over a 1.5-2years period. Maybe I am too ambituous.

              wow, if you have 5 full-time developers for 1.5-2 years, I'm jealous. Certainly if it is for an internal ERP project.

              But I always thought compiere/adempiere was not monolithic. Afaik, they have webservices access to their system as well. Adding/changing compiere (if it does not fit your needs) is probably less work than completely building a new system
