What does the FROMINDEX in JBPM_TRANSITION means?

I notice a column named FROMINDEX in JBPM_TRANSITION table.But i can't find a mapping field in .hbm.xml .I

How is it persisted and what does it means?
i try to use searchfunctionality,but i can't get any answer.

I would think it is a FK to a node. Does it contain values?

I see it again. I would think it is a index of same node's LeavingTransitions.
But how is it persisted?

It is part of the processdefinition, so I'd guess it is set somewhere in the process parser. Actual storage should be done by hibernate, but if there is no config for it, I don't know (I'm no hibernate expert)
