can't create a process instance

Hi All,
I am very new to JBPM.
I am getting the following error when i execut my JBPM code

org.jbpm.JbpmException: can't create a process instance when processDefinition is null.



can anyone explain in general what is the cause for this problem

most of the time the processdefinition is not in the database

Process instances are the actual processes you will use in your application. They are instantiated from a process definition (which is the 'description' of your process).

The error you get tells you that jbpm cannot find a process definition, so it cannot create any process instances.
