          try with 3.2.6sp1 or 4.1,

the 3.2.6sp1 , there is a lot a documentation, and is the one redhat uses for support....i'm using this version for studing right now becaus

the 4.1 in my opinion is in development and its not a version to introduce with, because for a new user you can't deploy directly from eclipse nad create a jbpm project, but uses the BPMN standard and comes with signavario for web modeling.

          hope its useful

The most stable version is the one within the JBPM Framework offered by Red Hat. You can find more information about this as well as access to that version via an evaluation license of the SOA-P platform here
            http://www.jboss.com/products/jbpm/

Otherwise from the community versions 3.2.6 I would say is stable not 4.x version which are still in development.

Personally I think not being able to deploy from the process design view is not that big a problem. A small ant task that creates a bar and deploys it is easy to achieve (< 0.5 hours of work)

I think I need to remove some confusion here:

All the releases that we do in the community (except for alpha and beta releases) are considered stable. We cannot rule out all bugs but they are all well tested. Over the last two years we also have build a fully automated QA matrix that allows us to run the test suite on an array of combinations of JVM's, databases, JBoss and Tomcat versions. So in this respect, the latest stable version has just been released: it is 4.2.

Now to comment on what Stelios said, the releases in the 4.x branch are not (yet) officially supported by Red Hat. They are only supported by the community. This means (among others) that there is no guarantee that particular bugfixes will be backported to a version that you might be using. But if you are lucky, the community might just do it for you or if you are willing to throw some effort against it you might just do it yourself.

I hope this is a bit of a clarification.

                Cheers,
                Koen

                  Hi Koen,

do you know when there will be an official support available from RedHat for 4.X?

                  Regards

Official jBPM Support (Enterprise Framework Subscription) is for 3.2.8 and is certified on RHELv4 and RHELv5.

Our jBPM certifications map to our SOA Platform certifications:

You can get an eval copy of SOA Platform from jboss.com
